Those of us who believe there is more beauty and ease to be found in the day to day and most importantly, anyone who needs reminding of their strength. This is The Resilience Collection, let their empowerment wash over you.
The Resilience Collection is a group of eleven unique pieces of artwork, comprising of vintage wooden and copper hoops and baroque style golden frames. A variety of sizes, these pieces are mainly ethereal dried flowers stitched onto their environment with a needle and golden wires, single stem by single stem. Beautiful botanicals reminding us yet again of the resilience of nature, that is within us all as well.
Enchantment
Sewn into each piece, knot by knot
Working on this collection was a very slow and therapeutic project for me. As I selected the colours and textures in the individual stem for each piece, I considered how they made me feel. I realised so much thought could be triggered by these incredible natural beauties, warmth, comfort, hope. The prospect of new beginnings and the comfort of nostalgia; their intricate and papery petals reminding us that nature is the strongest of all.
The sweet and familiar smell of the dried flowers, delicate and consoling allowing me to be consumed by it.
The circular hoop, a conscious pull to the circle often- symbolising to me, togetherness, fullness and unity, there is no beginning and there is no end; it’s ok to be a work in progress, to take your time, to enjoy and trust the process; to go at your own speed.
The ornate and grandeur of the baroque style frames and the extravagant gold dazzle contrasting with the vulnerability and fragility of the flowers, it’s ok to be both strong and vulnerable and we are as humans, capable of housing both of these emotions. These pieces allow you to feel the moment, pause and reflect on how far you have come- are you at the beginning, or the middle.. either way, you are Resilient.

These pieces hang on your wall, pouring out light to you, reflecting your ambition, aspiration and abilities. They are moments of dark amongst the brighter times, reminders that those hard times are fleeting and we can change direction and grow still. Each part of our story is important, the slow treacherous parts, and the moments of elation, allowing ourselves to slow down and live seasonally, standing up for what is important to you, all the things that make us Resilient .
