I thought I’d try something in a slightly different context from the regular gram posts. This week I had my usual 3 clients spaces booked with wonderful ladies and I’ve been reflecting on the experience of getting tattooed in my humble little studio a lot. I aim to create a relaxing and comfortable space, not only to create a beautiful piece of art for the client, but also a safe and nurturing environment for my client to actually rest and restore themselves a little. It seems a little funny at first to put getting tattooed together with resting and restoring, but it works, I am confident of it, and the chats and the trust that take place in that glorious room are testament to that. It solidifies my overall mission within all my creative work - to create a meaningful connection with the collector- and I feel the benefits of that human connection massively too.
So here’s some things I’ve been working on this week, continuing with two pieces in progress, a sleeve of freehand florals and a half back piece to blend into some older work my client has collected from me over the years, and one brand new client too, who was so incredibly open and trusting with the process to work some magic on her leg and also reframe her thoughts of some scars from an accident when she was younger. That’s another very humbling experience for me, being able to help somebody on their own personal journey of confidence and self appreciation. I honestly feel honoured.
Loved the flow we achieved in this piece. My client was so open minded to what she‘d be walking away with from our first meeting. Completely patient and trusting of the process, she said she had complete faith in me, and I will never take that for granted. I can‘t wait to get back to this piece and add the layers of detailing before we decide on colour or black and grey.
So there we go, a little roundup of the week, I’m off to the studio now to trial some new beautiful silk ribbon for latest hoop collection that will be available to buy really soon! More info on that over on the gram (for now!).
Thanks for stopping by and supporting my work,
Lots of love,
Esme x
